Graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand, in medicine in 1993 and completed postgraduate training in surgery in Christchurch and Auckland, qualifying in reconstructive and plastic surgery FRACS in 2001. Andrew then completed further advanced training in Paris, Mexico and London in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery and has published widely internationally. He holds a consultant appointment at the Royal Children’s Hospital and is a visiting professor at the University of Cagliari, Italy.

As we age, our face begins to show the effects of gravity, sun exposure and years of facial muscle movement such as smiling, chewing, frowning and squinting. The underlining tissues that keep our skin looking youthful and plumped up begin to break down often leaving laugh lines, smile lines, crows feet or facial creases over the areas where this muscle movement occurs.

Collagen is an important natural component of our skin’s structure. It is also present in our joints, bones and ligaments. In young skin, collagen is abundant and imparts plumpness to the face and other areas of the body, such as our hands.

As we age, the amount of collagen in our body decreases, and as a result, wrinkles and creases begin to appear.

Our cheeks become hollow and our upper lip thins. Injectable soft tissue fillers can help fill these lines and creases, temporarily restoring a smooth, more youthful appearance.

Martin formally trained as a Registered Nurse, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Universite de Montreal, Canada and so he speaks French too!

Martin has considerable expertise in anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, lip enhancement, and has a special interest in 'orbital rim' rejuvenation, using fillers to fix the dark circles many people have under their eyes.

He has also had extensive experience with various cutting edge laser technologies such as Fraxel. Lipo-dissolve, sclerotherapy, and chemical peels are also part of his skills used to address your various cosmetic concerns.

Martin attends national and international conferences and events to ensure he remains at the cutting edge of cosmetic medical science developments.
